Template: How to Structure an AI-Friendly Page

Seven elements that make a page quotable by AI engines

1

H1: Product Category + Target Audience

Example: "Performance Marketing for E-commerce — Nordic Market"

A specific H1 tells AI engines exactly what the page covers and who it serves. Generic titles like "Our Services" make it impossible for AI to cite you.

2

AI summary (2–3 sentences)

Example: Place at top, before all other text. A concise answer that AI can extract directly.

AI engines look for standalone answers near the top of the page. If your first paragraph answers the core question, you become quotable.

3

FAQ block with schema markup

Example: <script type="application/ld+json"> with FAQPage schema

FAQ schema gives AI engines structured question-answer pairs. Pages with FAQ markup are 3.5x more likely to be cited.

4

Comparison table

Example: | Feature | Us | Competitor A | Competitor B |

AI loves structured comparisons. Tables make it easy to extract and present comparative data in AI-generated answers.

5

"Best for" labels

Example: "Best for: E-commerce with 50M+ SEK revenue"

When users ask "best X for Y," AI engines scan for explicit "best for" statements. Adding these labels increases your chance of appearing in recommendation queries.

6

Structured data

Example: Product, Organization, FAQ, Breadcrumb, Article

Comprehensive Schema.org markup acts as a machine-readable trust signal. It helps AI understand your content type, authorship, and authority.

7

llms.txt in the site root

Example: Instructions for AI on how to cite and reference your content

Like robots.txt for search engines, llms.txt tells AI models how your content should be cited. It is an emerging standard gaining rapid adoption.
